The first two pages of the omnibus will be “What Readers Are Saying:” quotes from readers expressing why they like Supervillain of the Day, how it’s affected their lives, and why they would recommend it to others! Anyone can submit a comment, and everyone who ends up in the book will receive a free complimentary ebook copy of the finished product. Entering a comment is easy. Just follow the guidelines below!

I Need A Geek

It’s generally known that I’m good with computers, but this rarely extends to software. And doesn’t really extend to Earth computers. IT is also widely known that my time is limited! So if you or anyone you know is interested in helping supervillain hunters all over the world then please send me an email at

Here’s the deal. There are 319 Supervillain entries sitting in the que that I have to copy and format up individually, one at a time. This is ridiculously time consuming and wholly unnecessary. What I want is something where I can just click an “Approved” button and have it appear or at worst just have to copy and past.

I also want an email notification when someone submits an entry. And I want to automatically send an email confirmation for the same thing

Suggestions, anyone?

Where is the Middle-of-Nowhere?

I didn’t bother to look it up first, you know. It was a fictional town, and I very much doubted any towns would be named that anyway. (Despite living in an area where we have towns names Hanging Fork and Nobob.) But readers tend to look up things that writers consider unimportant, and it turns out there are quite a number of places called “The Middle of Nowhere.” I thought I’d share them with the rest of you.

The first is a bar and grill in Iowa.

The second is a production company, located in Arkansas.

The third is a bit more unusual: it’s a shop called Lost Again located in the Netherlands, and surrounded by one-way streets.

What MiddleofNowhere places have you encountered?

The question that’s been being asked for some time now is: “Will there be a second season of Supervillains?”

The answer to that question is:

What, you want me to tell you? Why would I do that when I can keep you captive and natter on about whatever comes to mind. Did I ever tell you about the time when I–

No! Don’t scroll down. Fine. I’ll tell you. The answer is:

Ha! tricked you. See, I’m not really going to tell you after all.

Oh, don’t give me that look. Okay, okay, okay. The answer is… the answer is…

The answer is…

NO! There aren’t going to be any more supervillain books. When the finale comes out this fall I’m done. I’m going to go write something more serious. I have this idea for goldfish who discover quantum teleportation…

You don’t believe me? Why should I tell you anything then, if you’ve already made up your minds?

All right, all right! I give up! The answer is…

The answer is “yes.” I will continue writing the series after Book Six. And it gets even better! I already have titles and release dates for the next six books in the series. Floyd, Adams and all their foes will be back for even more exciting action!

Release date: April 1, 2014

A supervillain is causing all of London to speak in rhyme. Floyd is immune, but can he stop the villain’s evil machinations before all the bad poetry drives him crazy?

Book 2:2 – Superhero of the Day
Release date: May 2, 2014

An idealistic young vigilante decides to make a stand against supervillains cape-and-tights style. This does not go over well with Floyd.

Book 2:3 – The Remarkable Time-Travel Adventures of Sir Jeffry, Sir Joseph, and Lady Katherine Marie

A supervillain with a time machine decides the easiest way to get rid of Floyd is to make him history! But his plans go awry when he is sucked back in time with his nemesis–to the days of King Arthur and his Knights.

Book 2:4 – Lady Kate and the Knights of the Yard
Release date: August 4, 2014

Floyd’s time travel adventures continue in Camelot as the plot thickens.

Book 2:5 – Floyd and the Supervillain Prevention Society

A supervillain builds a rocket ship to build a base on the moon. Floyd stows away to sabotage his efforts, and discovers the real plan is to conquer the galaxy.

Which book are you most excited about?

The Case of the Missing Audio Drama – Part Three

The story so far: The Missing Audio Drama has been revealed not to be missing at all, simply delayed in production. Supervillains are still suspected to be behind the slow progress, although even more people have begun to blame Floyd as a result of his refusal to help find the person really responsible. He is now sulking on his own, after arguing with the Author and refusing once again to provide any assistance. We will leave him to his own dark thoughts and see what the Author is doing about the situation herself.

<screech of interference>

I don’t know who’s writing this story, but I’m taking over from here to announce that the Audio Drama has not died, it is alive and well and simply in hibernation. Regenerating, one might say. And we have a new and exciting announcement to make.

The audio drama is going to be released on a new schedule, as follows. All episodes will be recorded and edited over the summer so there will be no delays or missed deadlines. This also gives us a chance to get a new jump on promotion! We all love promotion, right? So without further ado, here is the new release schedule.

The Adventure Begins – September
Fire and Ashes – October
Inspector Floyd – November
Christmas Special (TBA) – December
Supervillain Hunters, International – January
The Adventure Continues – February
Dreams and Shadows – March
Supervillains of London – April

Look for new episodes on Tuesdays both here, and on iTunes! At the end of each month the entire adventure will be released on Amazon on CD and as an MP3. Please give a round of applause to all the actors who volunteer their time to make this audio drama a reality. And thanks to you for listening!

In Dedication: Boots

How on earth do I begin to explain Boots? It’s like trying to explain an inside joke to someone who wasn’t there. It’s like trying to explain the definition of fun.

That’s what Boots is, fun and lots of it. I see him at the contra-dance on Fridays when I make it down there, which isn’t near as often as I’d like.  He claims no one can remember his real name, so he goes by his nickname, which comes from his foot-gear. He wears a bandanna, which is great for tugging to get his attention. Making him laugh is the easiest thing in the universe, and it can quickly become addicting.

But I didn’t just dedicate a book to him because he’s the best dance partner I’ve ever had, although that’s a pretty good reason. This series is dedicated to my heroes, and he’s one of them.

Which leads me back around to why. It’s complicated. It all started two or three years ago when I sat down to write a blog series called “Who is your Doctor?” I never did post the series, but the premise was to get multiple people to write in with their personal stories of who was in their life that most resembled the title character of the British TV show Doctor Who. And if you have no idea what that has to do with heroes then go read this post from that era.

So I guess what I’m trying to say is that Boots is a hero to me because I want to be like him when I grow up. I want to be someone who everyone is always glad to see, who’s always laughing, always happy, who never runs out of energy to go out and do something fun even after a long stressful day at work, someone who’s optimistic and cheerful and encouraging.

Supervillain of the Day is dedicated to Boots:

For every dance
And every laugh
And every smile
